Implementation of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies and overall reduction in energy consumption is hampered by a lack of general awareness. Educational efforts are constrained by the large distances and access to suitable accommodation and basic facilities. The Energy Trailer raises awareness and disseminates information about Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency technologies, measures and practices in rural and peri-urban Namibian settlements in order to promote use of these technologies and measures. The objective was to implement a "learning by showing" approach by conceptualizing, designing, manufacturing and field-testing a prototype trainer-friendly promotional vehicle-drawn trailer.
