Community participation in the conservation of the dry forest in the border of the Atitlán Lake, Santiago Atitlán, Sololá
The project is about establishment of the two communities nursery trees, one in Santiago Atitlán and another one in San Marcos La Laguna, both in Sololá, this is for the production of 5,000 trees of the species of encino (quercus spp), palo jiote (bursera simaruba), guachipilín (diphisa roobinioides), tuna (tuna nopalea), pitahaya (heliocerus undatus) y maguey (agave brachystachys).
They will work in reforestery 0.91 has with 20% of the production and with the 80% the will have incoming with local sale. All participants are training in organic forestry, nursery trees management and gender.
