Rescue, conservation and sustainable use of the Ujuxte (brosimum alicastrum) in the Community Agraria La Bendición, Patulul, Suchitepéquez
The project is divided by two big components: the planting of the 3,000 trees of Ujuxte (brosimum alicastrum) in 6.82 has of land in the border of the three local rivers, for reforestry and make good use of the sub products of this specie. The another component is establishment of agroforestery system in .82 has of land with the trees of Ujuxte (brosimum alicastrum) and avocado (parsea americana), the species of the vegetables of pineapple (ananas comusus), peanut (arachis ipogea) and yuca (manihor utilísima).
This project will work in processing the products post harvest in one community center for will produce the products like butter and jelly for sale and obtain incomings for the women in the community.
