Establishing 10 water harvesting pools in three rural agricultural areas in Khan Younis in the north of Gaza
The porject aims at establishing 10 water harvesting pools in three rural agricultural areas in Khan Younis in the north of Gaza and increasing farmers awareness through organizing a workshop for 24 framers on the effective methods to mange water scarcity and supporting their effort to replant new vegetation that diminished due to the water salinity and scarcity
The project will save 5400 m3 of rainfall water that was annually lost due to lack of water harvesting mechanisms and to save the energy used for pumping water from the wells by 2400 KW and 900 litter of Dassel annually. In addition to that the project will reduce the cost of irrigation of the agricultural land in this area by USD$ 1100 annually.
