Promotion of Cooperation of Ecological Farms in Kelme District
Promotion of Cooperation of Ecological Farms in Kelme District
The grantee used planning grant for the preparation of the project proposal.

The intensive farming that makes significant environmental impact is typical in Kelme district. In order to minimize agricultural pollution of ground waters and to reduce anthropological pressure to the biodiversity there is a need to increase level of ecological farming in the district.

The project aims to enhance development of ecological farms in Kelme district and this way to promote sustainable livelihoods for local people. The project will help the farmers of ecological farms to establish the cooperative, which will assist in processing, and selling of the ecological products in the future. The consumption of the ecological products will be promoted in the district as well.

A Cooperative specialising on growing of ecological seeds will be established. Some of the basic equipment for the processing of the production (cutter of the vegetables, juicer machine, and pneumatic transporters of the vegetables) and modest pieces of shop?s furniture will be purchased by the project. 4 basis-centres of cooperative will be established in different localities: 2 workshops of the production processing, premises of shop, as well as administrative center of the cooperative.
