The project aims to promote a systematic and rationale use of natural resources, and conserve the biodiversity of Manica province by establishing database systems and disseminating information on the status and use of natural resources. A centralized database system, about the province development, with information on the use of land, biodiversity and natural resources, water and the status of environment conservation in the districts of Chimoio, Manica, Sussundenga and Gondola will be put in place. The project will bring together environmental protection, social, economic and development activities that are undertaken by local communities, economic entrepreneurs and other sectors, towards promotion of a rational and sustainable use of local resources. Ultimately it will provide continuous and up to dated information about investment opportunities, local development, local livelihoods activities, and environmental threats addressed or in need of intervention.
