Increasing Public and Community Awareness on Health and Environment Impacted by Mercury in Sekayam Watershed, West Kalimantan
Project development Goal:
To facilitate community toward the changes of livelihood sources and increasing awareness of mercury impact on health and environment.
Project Objectives:
1. To encourage community initiatives to utilize and manage natural resources by planting local varieties.
2. To increase community welfare
3. To increase community critical awareness on mercury impact to community health and reproduction
4. To encourage community initiatives to minimize mercury absorbing into human body by cutting the consumption of biota and water from Sekayam River.
5. To build community movement to the use of mercury that will be submitted to local parliament and local government.
Expected Output:
1. Community initiatives to utilize and manage natural resources by planting local varieties emerged.
2. Community welfare increased.
3. Community critical awareness on mercury impact to community health and reproduction increased
4. Community initiatives to minimize mercury absorbing into human body by cutting the consumption of biota and water from Sekayam River emerged.
5. Community movement to the use of mercury that will be submitted to local parliament and local government established.
