Community Promoted Electrification of Thalingi Tribal Hamlet Through Biogas
The project intends to Electrifying Thalangi tribal hamlet through biogas programme,Promotion of biogas as a fuel for house holds purpose, Promotion of organic farming with bio-digested slurry of biogas plants.
The plans to achieve the set objectives through activities such as organizing strengthening activities for Self Help Groups, creating awareness on the conservation of natural resources, erection of biogas plants, connecting the toilets to biogas plants, demonstrating use of biogas slurry in the farm fields, capacity building communities in the area of electrification of the village.

Capacity - Building Component
A PRA exercise was conducted to prioritize their need and it was unanimously decided to have the power through biogas as the first priority.
Meanwhile 6 women Shgs were formed and these groups were provided a fund of Rs 25,000/-each from the District Rural Development Agency, Coimbatore after passing the credit rating. The SHG members will be trained in health, educational factors and motivated to conserve natural resources by adapting renewable energy resources by adapting renewable energy sources
Gender Focus
It is mentioned that the project is managed by women SHGs for the SHG member families; hence they play a key role in the planning, implementation and the management of the project.
