Storage and Utilisation of rain, Ground and Surface Water for Conservation of environmental, ecology and land degradation
The Sai Engineering Foundation is a voluntary organization working towards promoting cooperatives in the field of construction and development, providing electrification in remote rural areas. The goal of the project is to evolve a replicable and cost effective model for marginal land development by exploiting the potential provided by local geo-physical, meteorological specificities and by enhancing capacity building at grass roots. The specific objectives of the project are harnessing surface, rain and ground water to improve the productivity of marginal land including wasteland, grazing land and range land and ensuring food security and livelihood sustainability though farm based and non-farm income generation activities.

Project sustainability
The NGO has proposed focusing a management committee for Judiciously managing the water distribution. They are also planning to integrate small SHG?s to form into a management committee for better local ownerships. The NGO shall develop all systems in which communities shall contribute for O & M systems.
Notable Community Participation
The community has outlined a strategy and shall be guided to do planning of the exercise through PRA?s, local area, land use based maps shall be drawn for the new areas. Nearly 20 hectares new area for cultivation and 50 hectares will be irrigated area under cultivation. A cost benefit model has also been worked by the NGO.
