Baseline assessment of tourism options and promotion of ecotourism activities by local communities in Catine region, district of Chigubo, Gaza province
This project aims to undertake a baseline assessment of ecotourism opportunities, and promote community tourism initiatives, as alternative to inadequate use of local resources and loss of biodiversity in Catine region. Livelihood and income generation activities to promote sustainable resource use, food security, and self-sufficiency will also be part of the project. Establishment of a Community Training Centre, marketing of ecotourism products, and selling of local crafts will become part of the community alternative daily life. The project will aim towards reducing pressure over local resources, provide alternative means to this semi-arid area communities, and preserve local biodiversity and land.
