Project for protection of doormice in Poland- preparation of the model document
project preparation aimed in the long term strategy and active protection of doormices covering whole entire Poland;to be prepared by PTOP Salamandra from Poznan (see:projects POL/01/40 and POL/03/13) and TP Bocian Stork Society from Siedlce (POL/04/29);they gathered substantial experience during implementation of 3 projects devoted to active protection or reintroduction of doormices in Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship, Mazowieckie Voivodship and Swietokrzyskie Voivodship;it still do not cover the whole area of Poland (eg. Babia Gora National Park, Bialowieza National Park etc); during evaluation seminar on 10-11 September 2005 (project POL/04/29) and during International Conference on Dormices in Siedlce 20-24 September 2005 agreed that the national strategy should be formulated, approved and then implemented .Mini-grant should allow to prepare national project, to strenghten NGOs and researchers involved in, bring new partners (foresters, National parks, Landscape Parks) through consultations, establishment of working-group, designing the startegy (first elements).
