Organic agriculture with the crops of beans, straw, hierbamora and quixtán (this name is in K'iche' language and hierbamora is a native herb) and establishment of the forestall and fruit nursery trees with avocado , white pine and alder trees for re forest and commercialization in Cantón Nuevo Edén, Tacaná, San Marcos
This project is about the establishment of 37 plots of organic cultivation, each plot of beans, straw and quixtán and hierba mora (Solanum Wendlandii Hook and Solanum Americanum Miller). Each plot will be worked with soil preservation techniques as terraces and living barriers, amounting to 5.05 has organically worked by the 37 project participants all women in additon the establishment of the one nursery trees with avocado white pine and alder trees for forestall ending.
Among the schedule main activities are training issues on soil preservation, production of pesticides, fertilizers, fungicides and organic foliares fertilizers, and organic sowing, as well as project monitoring and evaluation.
They plan to get sustainability by dividing the production into three, one part for seeding, another for food consumption to improve their diet, and the third one for sale and so improving their incomes.
