Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
NC frequent visits to Suwalki regon caused by implementation of 4 projects in 1994/1995 gave an opportunity for meetings with local government, services for environmental protection, National Park, and media - interviews on radio and for local newspapers describing mission of GEF/SGP, problems of translation of global problems into local activities, mobilisation of people.
Notable Community Participation
cooperation with the Suwalki landscape Park, in fact beneficiary of the project - mini-hydro station would serve office of the Park and small hostel;
