200 hatch boxes were installed as planned, aroud lakes in landscape Parks and Wolin National Park ,in the forests. Great assistance of the Landscape services and Wolin NP (transport of boxes!),not so enthusiatsic contacts with foreseters. Main purpose of the project - increase of goldeneye population can be observed in 2-3 years according to Dr Mizera opinion and his experience; this fact is unfortunately supported by delays of installation in some places due to bureacrat's in some local governments (no names).
ZTO members witnessed during installation dramatic cuts in the forests along lake shores, so it could be also a reason for weak results of the first year, as well as heavy touristic movement on lakes (and sometimes illegal camping of yachts , noise).
ZTO a very young NGO was collectong experience, getting new contacts, receiving support from some local communities.Education and information was done with produced brochures, initial folder at the beginning, and poster, distributed mainly in schools.
