Adopting Sustainable Lobster Harvesting Techniques using Concrete Shades in the marine areas adjacent to Monkey River Village
The goal of this project is to help conserve the biodiversity of the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System - World Heritage Site by increasing the participation of fishermen in the management and conservation of the BRRRS-WHS through education and training and promotion of sustainable fishing techniques. This project will also serve as a demonstration project to record reliable data on lobster production which could form the basis for supporting policy regarding fishing communities being provided with the opportunity to manage their own fishing resources.
