Establishment of a National Mechanism for the Operations of the Global Environmental Facility Small Grants Programme in Grenada
The goal of the project is to establish an effective national mechanism with appropriate systems for the operations of the GEF SGP in Grenada. The objectives are to:

(i) establish a structure and build capacity for the development, review and approval of GEF SGP projects in Grenada; and

(ii) undertake a series of public education, awareness building and consultative meetings which will help to promote the work of the GEF SGP and develop a Country Programme Strategy (CPS) for Grenada.

By the end of the project Grenada will have: an established National Focal Group (NFG), an appointed National Focal Person, trained members of the NFG, an approved Country Programme Strategy, and a well promoted GEF SGP programme. The long term impact of this project will be to establish a mechanism and an opportunity for Community Based Organisations (CBOs) to address environmental issues and poverty whilst develop their capacity for sustained action.
