Shifting to less polluting traffic modals through studying alternative traffic flow and raising public awareness in Ramallah and Al-Bireh cities.
The research and public awareness activities will contribute to reducing greenhouse emissions resulted from traffic mismanagement through conducting three targeted studies on the current transportation polices and practices to determine the causes and impact of the traffic Jam and public transportation on air and environment pollution. A workshop will be organized to enhance the knowledge of 40 employees from different institutions Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Local Government, police, Ministry of Health ?etc on the output of the pervious studies and how to reduce ground transportation emissions .Additionally, the project will contribute to raising public awareness through launching campaigns in local newspapers and radio, installing 2 street banners and organizing public rally calling for immediate enforcement of transportation law to reduce air pollution effect on health and environment.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Publishing 3 booklets ( 1000 copy/ booklet) summarizing aims and methodology for each study. Conducting 1 workshop ( 6 hour with 40 participants), specialists, officials and governmental authorities were invited to discuss the output for each study and suggetst recommendations. Disseminate awareness messages about the project through public campaigns in the local newspapers and media tools, in addition to installation of signs near the main roads. Gathering the support to perform a public march in order to encourage local authorities to reactivate the laws related to pollution and traffic jam. Supplying the municipalities with 200 traffic signs necessary to control vehicles movement inside the cities in addition to supply them with paints to redraw the the pedestrians lines on the streets.
