Consolidation for preventing pollution of Lake Victoria Waters through promotion of environment Sanitation and construction of appropriate pit latrines for demonstration
WEVIDHA Objective is to break the long perpetrated tradition by people living on the lakeshore to regard the lake as their waste bay. Also to break the long held habit of urinating and defecating in the Lake. The NGO will also demonstrate how pit latrines can be constructed in a sandy or rocky environment. In 2002 WEVIDHA received US $ 30,080 to improve environmental sanitation along Lake Victoria shoreline by building pit latrines.
