Community Forests Management Project (COF-MAP)
The project is to complete the commercialization of the product from Ocimum kilimandscharicum that is now being cultivated by the community living around Budongo Forest as a sustainable alternative income generating activity, for the purpose of reducing pressure on the forest. As an additional activity, BUCODO will promote the conservation of customary forests around Budongo forest by mobilizing the adjacent community to form village forest committees to manage the forests.

Inovative Financial Mechanisms
Although BUCODO is the lead agent in implementing the programme, it will be supported in each of the components by the under mentioned partners : - ACODE shall give the needed expertise in advocacy to raise and share the concerns and experiences of the CBOs in order that their voices and demands are given attention to as a mechanism in PFM process. CARE (Uganda) shall backstop BUCODO especially in the ENRM and build capacities of the CBOs in areas of rights, equity and revenue sharing in community based natural resource management system. ICIPE shall provide the technical services in the area of processing plant derived medicinal products and conduct bio prospecting in order to identify more plants of medicinal values and opportunities of developing new formulations and commercial cultivation of such plants. ICIPE will also support BUCODO in manufacturing, packaging and marketing of the Naturub products.
