Coordination of Beekeeping activities around Mt. Kilimanjaro
This project is situated in Bomangombe in Hai District. This project involves Beekeepers in Hai and Moshi rural districts in Kilimanjaro Region.The project main objective is to train the beekeepers on morden beekeeping as a means of income generating activities as well as a way of reducing forest fire in the natural forest of Mt. Kilimanjaro.The project will also propose a honey collection center which will deal with marketing of the honey products produced by group members.
The project will also train members on the construction of morden bee-keeping equipments and moder bee keeping techniques.
The project other objective it to coordinate efforts of beekeepers around Mt. Kilimanjaro and to reduce the incidence of forest fires originating from traditional beekeepers who use open fire which sometimes result into wild fires. The Project will also focus on the improvement of honey quality.
