Project aims in poverty eradication in small communities (below 6000 inhabitants) in rural areas using as an instrument rejected by industrial agriculture old primitive breeds and plants (genetic resources of animals and plants from the red list of endangered species and varieties); project should fight over passiveness of people, bring them together in active use of local human,organisational, material resources influencing biodiversity of agricultural ecosystems (preservation);
All GEF/SGP projects in agro-biodiversity portfolio proved that support to those areas can bring extra income (local products) to people involved.
Grants of value 3000-10000zlotys (936-3106USD) will be awarded to those communties submitting proposls of high efficiency (low cost,big output),detailed budget,description of all activities,well preparad action plan, number of people involved in project implementation and number (potential) of people positivelt affected by project, innovative character and

potential for replication, sustainability, ability to obtain other funds, necessary in kind contribution;Jury will be composed of GEF/SGP, FWW and experts (Ministry of Agriculture,FAO experts). Estimated number of projects 30-40, involving (on average) 2-30 people per project.
Imposed limit well checked in previous projects of addressed communities (up to 6000 inhabitants) secure real local CBOs/NGOs participation and exclusion of professional organisations from bigger towns. Predicted in kind contribution from selected projects - cc. 100.000 USD
