Coral Gardening Project
The village of Apai is located on the tiny island of Manono-tai on the coast, and much of the village livelihood comes from its marine resources (through fishing and collecting crustaceans), however the over consumption has resulted in the deterioration of the inshore marine resources. Thus corals have been severely damaged and it has contributed to the decline in fishes, marine organisms and so forth. The village is concerned with the depletion in its marine resources and is willing to rehabilitate its marine resources through the planting of corals or coral gardening.
