Conservation and replanting of indigenous Samoan plants used for handicraft making and mix organic vegtable farming
The community of Vaega-Satupaitea has a large number of unemployed women with little opportunity of securing work. The Women's Committee see's the SGP as providing an incentive to start-up the women handicraft market for all young women in the village to work and earn an income for their families. Many young women have skills in handicrafts and gardening, but lack the resources and tools needed for production.

The project intends to revive and promote traditional handicraft skills of women through the replanting of tree species that are used in making tapa and woven handicrafts. The planting of mulberry trees and pandanus as well as vegetable garden will contirbute to promoting tree planting and income generating for the village.
