Promoting the planting of organic vegetables, fruit trees and indigenous medicinal plants
The organic vegetable, fruit trees and medicinal garden is a project by the Women's Committee of Gautavai (Komiti Tumama), to promote the use of organic materials and phase-out the use of pesticides and chemicals. The project intend to use activities, as part of its environment awareness and educational programme for women to promote sustainable land management methods.
The objectives of the project are;
Promote organic farming activities and phase-out pesticides and chemicals,
Conduct public awareness seminar in the vilage on sustainable agriculture and land management
The project site will be used as a demonstration plot for women to learn about organic farming, so that they can replicate the process in their own households
