Reconstruction of Reservior and Preserve Natural Spring for sufficient water supply for the Samamea Village
Samamea Village water resource is not under the Samoa Water Authority management, thus the community had build its own reservior to support the whole village bringing tap water to households. However, the current system built by the community is deteriorating badly and unsafe for village people to use. The water resource has supported the community during dry season bringing less rain and more drought to the area. The Village Council proposed for the upgrading and improving the structure of the existing water reservior a vital community resource.
Objectives;
Conduct capacity building and awareness workshop on water conservation
Assessment on water quality for bathing, washing and drinking
Technical assessment on costing for the site to be upgraded and improved the system so that it will support the community for a long term
Training community on maintenance of their system and establishing partnership for the community in managing their water resource
