Rebuilding of traditional bathing pools and water springs used by the Sapapalii Community for domestic activities
The project aims to upgrade the two traditional bathing pools in the village, one for women and one for men, as well as spring for drinking. The springs are currently used by the community because of poor water quality from piped water during rainy season and water shortage during dry season. The water quality varies according to the changes in tide, and since the conditions of the pools are deteriorating the water used by the community for drinking, bathing and washing is becoming very salty. The water circulation is poor and there is limited fresh water coming from the natural spring because of high level of sedimentation.
