Wind energy use to supply remote pastures of Karaganda area with electricity (The main goal of the project is demonstration of opportunities for wind power use for the purposes of power supply of the remote settlements on the sample of the two remote herder settlements in Kazaganda area)
In a steppe zone of the Central Kazakhstan, as well as in other areas of the country, the degradation of environment affecting on livelihood of the local people is observed, leading to exhaustion of the sustainable livelihood sources, deterioration of the grounds structure (due to over breeding around settlements), aggravation of situation with workplaces, etc. Owing to these factors, people are moving to the remote pastures.
But remote areas are not enough supplied with energy and situation can be characterized as catastrophic in view of low solvency of the majority of the rural population, caused by low incomes. Traditional kinds of fuel are expensiveThere's a strong necessity to find and implement new energy supply alternatives.
The project is directed on demonstration of opportunities for wind power use for the purposes of power supply of the remote settlements on the sample of the two remote herder settlements in Kazaganda area. The project includes establishment of 2 wind-power turbines to supply the herders of the remote areas with power and make their living conditions more comfortable. Marketing research will be arranged to get the picture for perspectives for the wind power turbines manufacturing at the local level, propagation of the project results will be carried out.
