Due to insufficiently considered economical activity, Tekeli city along with natural disasters like earthquake, now facing a number of problems connected with destruction of integrity of natural mountainsides. All these processes are becoming apparent through mudflows, landslips. Progressing mudflows in the south of the city for many years are being brining troubles for the people, but no rehabilitating measures have been taken towards solving the problem. The situation now is that the pastures territory has decreased, bush of wild apples, peony are been felled. It?s important also to mark that the cattle over-breeding and ignorant use of pastures has led to transgression of the natural herbage, natural restoration of the mountainsides isn?t observed any more. Systematic fires arranged by local people have aggravated the situation.

The project aims at awareness raising of the local population about the problem by means of realization of a large-scale informational campaign, implementation of a complex research of the project territory to define the scale of the problem and elaborate measures to resolve the problem and improve the situation in the area, to prevent degradation of the mountainsides, establish regulations and normative for cattle breeding, toughen poaching prevention actions.

Expected results:
?An alternative cattle breeding system will be adjusted to stop the pastures and mountainsides degradation process
?Based on results of the research a lobbying campaign will be implemented to assign financial resources from the direction of the state budget to implement a complex of activities to solve the issue through attraction of competent organization.
?The local community will be trained in behavior in extraordinary situations
