Post Tsunami Environment and Community retoration Programme in Galle by Development Education Institute for Human and Environment Resource Management
Awareness raising for school children, construction of five eco frinedly houses, livelihood development, coastal environment restoration. The project?s environmental focus is primarily on re-planting beach vegetation and on solid and liquid waste management. The community development component consists of constructing five eco-friendly model houses, introducing micro-credit loan schemes to restart livelihoods, training on environment technology and awareness on environment conservation

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Awareness on environment conservation is to be promoted through posters, pamphlets and school lectures. Environment technology training will emphasize on the efficient use of resources while the waste management progamme will focus on educating the public on minimizing waste pollution.
