Programme for protecting the roller (Coracias garrulus) in Poland
Project will cover about 14,230 square kilometers, what makes ca. 90% of that time Roller?s geographical range in Poland. The major activities of the project are: inventory of breeding population of Roller; preparing documentation required for establishing nest protection zones and examining efficiency of already established zones; identifying threats; testing efficiency of using artificial nest sites (nest boxes); raising awareness among local communities and State Forest administration about needs for Roller conservation, co-operation with other regional environmental NGOs active at these regions of Poland, where Rollers are breeding.
