All three of the municipalities covered by this project are threatened by the regional development policy adopted which excludes small farmers, increasing unemployment in these municipalities. The goal of the project is to support sustainable use and management of natural Cerrado resources in nine urban and rural communities of the municipalities of Buritizeiro, Pirapora and Várzea da Palma (totaling 157 families), aimed at better dietary and nutritional conditions, as well as generation of employment and income
