Native Bee Project
Projeto Abelhas Nativas
The goal of this project is to implement a widened network of income generation and marketing of products and sub-products of native bees, which will focus on fair trade bringing direct benefits to the small farmers, improving family income, environmental quality and creation of new sources of income. Northeastern Maranhão, in addition to being one of the poorest regions in Brazil, has suffered heavily from large soy and eucalyptus monocultures, which are against project goals.
