The main activities and outputs are:
- Extracting baseline in a participatory manner with the help of the Core Working Group (incl. stakeholder identification and categorization, prioritizing tasks, indicators for qualitative outputs, etc).
- In collaboration and funding from Department of Environment (DOE) & CPAP and UNDP/GEF this project will engage the local community through a capacity and team building program similar to the one conducted in SGP Capacity Building Project No.IRA/05/09/OP3 (57th).
Also as deemed possible by these partners assistance of an international consultant for seeking innovative methods will be utilized.
- Establish a network of local community and Environment Rangers to exchange information on sightings and etc (participatory monitoring and evaluation).
- Compile a guide for Environment Rangers
- Engage the community through the youth with activities such as field surveys for the youth to be conducted with the help of the Environment Rangers, drawing and sports competition with conservation theme, appointing active and interested students as ?animal patrollers/police?, etc.
- A film and photo album will be produced by the local Environment Rangers to depict the sensitivity of the region and explain the ecological traits of Asiatic Cheetah.
