Project Characteristics and Results
Policy Impact
One of the indirect objectives of the project is precisely for the protection of the forest especially the Aurora Memorial National Park from increasing rate of human interference. The AMNP serves as a vital watershed to the province of Aurora, Nueva Ecija and even to the rest of Central Luzon.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Planting of permanent food crops such as fruit trees, one major objective under this project is both for poverty and as a means to ensure good vegetative cover year round. This program intends to lessen overdependence of the families from the Park's timber resources. What is needed is a nursery which can readily supply the necessary planting materials.
