7 Trees Forest
Project aimed to combat desertification and soil erosion through activities aimed at raising public awareness in this area.
Desertification is one of the main environmental problem areas in Turkey. Soil erosion, unsustainable land use practices and loss of ofrests and illeagal fores cutting are major reasons behind aggrevated land degradation. The project consisted of a widely publicised campaign (TV, radio, newpapers, documentary films, posters etc.) and inviting all individuals to plant 7 trees as to offset the damage given by each individual on the assumption that a person consumes 7 trees each year.
