Susutainable income generation through livelihood development and environmental restoration by Siyath Foundation.
The targeted project area is incessantly affected by environmental problems, such as:
sea erosion and the effect on coastal marine and freshwater eco systems, air pollution from unprotected lime factories, water stagnation in pits dug for lime mining, pollution of lagoon and river basin which affects mangrove systems etc.
The projetc is focused towards sustainable income generation through livelihood development based on the coir industry, restoration of abandoned coral pits, entrepreneurial and skills development, formation of community groups, home garden development and establishment of environmental resource centre.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
Capacity building of the community, especially children, youth and women is a main component of this project. The components such as networking and sharing experiences, environmental resource centre, training on first aid and swimming, community herbal gardens for children and bee keeping for youth will help to build the capacity of the community.
