Capacity Building, Knowledge Management and Visibility for Best Practices of the GEF/SGP Tsunami Programme by Organization for Resource Development and Environment.
Capacity building and training on Project management with emphasis on project monitoring is offered to the NGOs implementing the projects in the tsunami affected districts.
The visibility component and the and the lessons learnt from the tsunami rehabilitation and reconstruction activities and leaflets portraying the best practices employed is disseminated among the NGOs, stakeholders and the public and telecast over television across the country.
Activities include:
Training of 15 implementing NGOs and preparation of Project monitoring plan for the tsunami rehabilitation and reconstruction projects.
Documentation in DVD, the best practices/ lessons learned for telecasing.
Preparation of 8000 descriptive leaflets in 3 languages on selected projects

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Capacity building training on project management with emphasis on project monitoring will be offered to the NGOs implementing the projects in the Tsunami affected districts. These NGOs had continued to work with the people in various activities related to development. The training they receive through this proposal will greatly enhance their efficiency and improve their professionalism. These trainings are of lasting value. The visualization component and the lessons learnt from the Tsunami rehabilitation and reconstruction activities as well as leaflets portraying the best practices employed and gained will be freely disseminated among NGOs, Stakeholders and the public and will also be telcasted across the country through a T.V. Channel. The impact thus will be long lasting.
