Chemical-Free Agriculture for Rehabilitation and Conservation of Environment
Target Population/Location of project:
150 community members from 40 households in Tambol Ranghua, Jombung District, Ratchaburi Province. Target population earns their living by animal husbandry and vegetable-raising; they reside in a rain-fed area of approximately 120 ha in the Mae Klong River basin of the Gulf of Thailand / South China Sea. The Farmer?s Group is trying to reverse land degradation by demonstrating sustainable agriculture.

Objectives:

2. Installation of a water supply system to be used with land cultivated as a result of project
3. Designation of two acres of land as a demonstration plot under supervision of project members

Anticipated outputs:
1. Facility capable of producing at least one ton of compost per day; compost distributed to project members and outsiders
2. Rehabilitation and sustainable cultivation of twelve acres of land
3. Five thousand litres/day reduction (approx. 60%) in water usage on plantation
4. Four litres/day reduction in use of diesel oil for water pumping, (equivalent to 11,200 kg. of CO2 emission, or THB 1,800)
