The High Mountain Bio diversity Conservation Project
Geographically, Bajhang district in Far West of Nepal, is marked with occasional earthquake, rugged terrain with nasty slopes, high intensity rainfall during monsoon season. 50% of sloping inaccessible land in Bajhang has potential for the valuable herb as Yarsa gumba (Cordeceps sps), Panch Aunle (Dactilorhizza), Bhyakur(), wild yam etc, and wild lives such as Red monkey, Common otter, Himalayan Thar, bear. However, increasing exploitation by local people has degraded the natural resources found in project area. The project aims to conserve the wild resources, pasture land, water, rare& endangered wild animals and plants by mobilization of local people. The project sighted to conserve barren and pasture land by introducing the native variety of the fodder grass. The implementation of the project will help to conserve High mountain Bio diversity making the hill life economically active by increasing income generation activities.
