Partnership for Conservation and Sustainable Use of Varghis Gorge Nature Reserve
The project is located in Romania, Harghita county, Meresti commune.
The main aim of the project is to promote the sustainable use and conservation of natural resources, with the involvment of the local community
Objectives of the project:
- conservation of natural and cultural values of the region,
- identification and promotion of traditional local products and values,
- awareness-raising of local community and tourists related to nature conservation
- promotion of sustainable meadows management through designation of a pilot site
The activities of the project: community meetings, organization of trainings and presentation on eco-tourism, monitoring of vulnerable species, study visits, community development, designation of pilot site for sustainable management of meadows.
Target groups of the project are local farmers interested in rural tourism, land-owners in the nature reserve, local institution, the local community in general.
