Nature - Future for the Carpathians. Small Grants, Great Changes
Project is continuation (II phase) of project ?Building of Coalition for Carpathian sustainable development?, financed from PHARE 2003 Programme. The most important goal of the project is practical implementation of Carpathian Convention (signed in 2003, ratified by Poland on 27th February 2006).
In grant competition-organized in the project-at least 6 projects (for amount 5000-15000 PLN, at least 10 % of grant must be financed by awarded organization) will be granted. Local NGOs and informal groups (from villages and towns up to 6000 inhabitants, from 3 Carpathian Voivodships) can take part in grant competition. In awarded projects, actions to protect biodiversity (of agro-ecological, forest and mountain ecosystems), ensuring permanent improvement of environment condition and involvement of local community, will have to be taken

Notable Community Participation
Integration of different local parties, increase of local community participation in community development, activization and creation of local coalitions and public-private partnerships (within local groups of Coalition ?Green Carpathians?), raising public awareness and about environmental protection, preparation of project proposals and implementation of approved projects by local community members (activization of local entrepreneurs, NGOs and youth).
