The Centre for Wildlife Conservation (CWC) is an Aceh-based conservation group working on the livelihood recovery in Iboih indigenous village of Weh Island. With close coordination from the local coastal customary governing leader or Panglima Laot of Iboih, the community strives to rebuild their livelihoods through community-led and women-led enterprises. SSGF grants help the community through the provision of working capital for women, procurement of sewing machines and embroidery equipment, and development of a handicraft workshop. The assistance package includes training to improve community skills in seaweed farming and post-harvest techniques; design and marketing of sewing and embroidery products; and contemporary handicraft based on local design.

CWC facilitated an inter-village meeting in Iboih District Office attended by community leaders and local government. The meeting resulted in acknowledgement of and full support for the efforts of the local community. The Basic Education and Manpower Department has committed to extend assistance through sewing and printing instructors in Iboih District. This sewing training will involve 10 women and the printing training will involve 5 women.

CWC plans to conduct training in seaweed cultivation for nine women. The seaweed seeds would be provided by the University of Syah Kuala (UNSYIAH) from South Aceh as all seaweed in Pulo Aceh was destroyed during Tsunami. The university will also provide an expert for training and community-based monitoring in seaweed cultivation and aquaculture in Gapang and Iboih beaches. Marketing and processing methods are also surveyed to ensure the community to market its products.
