The control of water hyacinth in the lakes and river system of Akagera basin part of Rwanda, phase I Mihindi and Ihema Lakes
The project aims at reducing water weed in Akagera river, a main affluent of the Nile. The fist phase targetted two lakes that are crucial for existing wild animals living in the Akagera National Park, using mechanical control done by fishemen association and processing of haversted weeds done by 2 women associations.
