The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Program (SGP), implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has worked with Indige￾nous Peoples, local communities, pastoralists and small-scale producers for more than three decades. While SGP has not historically maintained a dedicated pastoral￾ism portfolio, many community grants have supported activities closely linked to pastoral livelihoods, including sustainable grazing management, rangeland restora￾tion, livestock production, biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation, water management and natural resource governance. This briefing note presents preliminary findings from a portfolio-wide keyword scan of the SGP global database undertaken in preparation for UNCCD COP17.
