UNTV in partnership with SGP Tunisia prepared a video to promote awareness on the role of oceans in achieving sustainable development and highlight the impact that climate change could have on the state of oceans and marine ecosystems while addressing what needs to be done to protect the marine environment.
Tunisia was selected as the backdrop to explore the issues on climate change, marine environmental degradation and sustainable fisheries. In particular, the film showcases the current state of marine ecosystems and resources in Tunisia, the impct of climate change and the reponse of communities to mitigate and adapt to these conditions while protecting the marine environment.
SGP projects and partners brought all their experiences, knowledge and means to prepare the video, which was prepared and launched at the Shanghai Expo 2010. THe video has an introduction from Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, is available in English and Chinese and can be watched by following this link.
