In the last week of August, the National Steering Committee (NSC) of SGP Panama held its first meeting at the UN House. Mr. Roberto Galvez, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP Panama, gave the welcoming remarks in which he acknowledged the dedicated committee members whose efforts and visions will help steer the SGP country porgramme towards a successful beginning.

The SGP National Coordinator, Jose Manuel Perez, introduced the GEF and the SGP programme objectives, and the roles and responsibilities of the NSC. Subsequently, a plan of future activities was agreed, with the next meeting of the NSC, the National Strategy Workshop, taking place on September 26.
