The 14th Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) will be held in New Delhi, India from September 2-13. The theme of the COP is “Restore land, sustain future” with a focus on achieving Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) globally, in line with target 15.3 of the SDGs.

- Partnership in Practice: Sustainable Land Management in Sub-Saharan Africa, 11th Sept from 18:00-20:00pm, Official COP side event
Promoting sustainable agriculture and securing food security in the harsh dry climate in Sub-Saharan Africa needs concerted efforts at all levels of all sectors. Involvement of local communities and non-state actors that are most impacted and have local knowledge and solutions to the issue is critical.
The side event demonstrates the power of various partnerships from local to international in enabling implementation of sustainable agricultural practices that can contribute to the overall objectives of food security in Africa, and generate global environment benefits that contribute to the livelihood of people.
