Conservation and Management of Endangered Snakes of the Kalahari Through Captive Breeding for Sustainable Utilisation
Conservation and Management of Endangered Snakes of the Kalahari Through Captive Breeding for Sustainable Utilisation
The project aims at having dialogue with stakeholders and building consensus on strategies for conservation and management of endangered snakes of the Kalahari through a workshop. The workshop will bring together various stakeholders for dialogue and the eventual formation of a legal entity that will facilitate the implementation of the project. In addition, as the group is largely young women, it will accord them a chance to work and handle snakes which are otherwise considered a nuisance by the general public. The snake park will be the first public enterprise in Botswana save for the army one which is largely used for military purposes.
