Moringa Nursery Production and Tree Planting in Kabwe District
Moringa Nursery Production and Tree Planting in Kabwe District
The Moringa Nursery Production and tree planting in Kabwe is a project being implemented by the Women Aglow International ? Kabwe Chapter, a Christian Faith based fellowship organization. The project came up with a view of offering a cheaper alternative to the treatment and prevention of lead poisoning through the planting and uses of the Moringa tree whose leaves, flowers and seeds have a high quality of nutrients like, protein, vitamins and calcium which are vital in the treatment of lead poison. As Kabwe town is one of the towns with high effects of lead pollution. The Women Aglow members looked at the intervention of a Moringa tree as a cheap and affordable means at which the poor majority affected by lead pollution in Makululu Township manage to fight the pollution and poisoning as opposed to what was available before where people were advised to eat foods like meat, kapenta, oranges, bananas or drink milk which is not affordable to most people as they are ex miners declared redundant in 1991
