PROCESSING OF PAPER AND PLASTIC WASTE
ASAZA is a Community-Based Organization (CBO) and its offices are located in Kabanana residential area of Lusaka. It is legally registered as a (CBO) with the Registrar of Societies and was established in 1995 and registered with the Registrar of Societies in 1997. ASAZA is affiliated to the Ministry of Health (MoH) through the Lusaka District Health Management Board (LDHMB).
The principal purpose of ASAZA Community organization is to complement the efforts of Government and co-operating partners to uplift the living standards/conditions of disadvantaged communities in Zambia through the design and implementation of community-driven projects and programmes aimed at improving the health and socio-economic status of residents. The organization also places much emphasis on the empowerment of women and girls so that they may take a more active role in decision-making process and leadership in their communities.
2. Project?s main objective
2.1 To minimize the problem of indiscriminate littering or waste disposal that leads to land degradation and pollution of the environment whilst at the same time helping alleviate the problems of unemployment and abject poverty through income generation and remuneration of participants, chiefly women and unskilled youths.
